  • Students: Names, admission numbers, academic records (grades, attendance), class assignments, and basic demographic data provided by the school.
  • Parents & Guardians: Names, contact information, and billing details necessary for processing school fees and communicating student progress.

Information is collected exclusively in the context of providing our educational software services:

  • When a school initially registers and configures their portal on our platform.
  • When school administrators or teachers manually input or upload student, staff, and parent records.
  • When users log into their portals, interact with the system, or submit academic data (e.g., CBT answers, grading).
  • When parents or guardians process tuition and fee payments through our secure gateway integrations.
  • When users contact our support team for assistance.

How do we use your information?

As a specialized school management platform, we use the information collected primarily to facilitate seamless educational operations. Specifically, we use your data to:

  • Authenticate and securely manage access to school portals and user accounts based on assigned roles.
  • Process and maintain accurate academic records, including broadsheets, CBT results, and attendance logs.
  • Facilitate the secure processing of school fee payments and generate automated receipts and ledgers.
  • Enable essential communication between school administrators, teachers, students, and parents.
  • Provide targeted customer support and resolve technical issues rapidly.
  • Continuously monitor platform security, prevent unauthorized access, and improve overall system stability.

How do we protect your information?

We employ enterprise-grade security measures to protect the sensitive educational data entrusted to us:

Cookies allow us to securely manage user sessions, remember your authentication state so you don't have to log in repeatedly, and maintain your specific role context (e.g., Admin vs. Student) as you navigate the platform. We do not use tracking cookies to sell your browsing behavior to advertisers.

We never sell, trade, or rent student, parent, or school data to advertisers or data brokers.

We only share necessary information with trusted third-party service providers who assist us in operating our platform (such as cloud hosting providers and secure payment gateways like Paystack). These partners are bound by strict confidentiality agreements and are prohibited from using your data for any purpose other than providing their specific service to Skoolynk.

Data Retention and Deletion

We do not arbitrarily hold onto your personal data. Your information remains on our platform strictly for as long as the school or academy you are affiliated with maintains your records in their active system.

As a multitenant platform, user information within a school's account is directly controlled by the individual schools. School administrators determine when to enroll and delete user data within their school's portal.

Please note that once your data is deleted by a school administrator or upon verified request, it is permanently erased from our active databases. We do not retain hidden copies or shadow profiles; deleted data becomes permanently and irreversibly deleted.
